Children in Kentucky Head Back to School with New Gifts in Hand
Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) assists families in the Kentucky Appalachians by hosting community events that provide people with hygiene products, clothing, and other resources. As part of Toys for Tots’ DoGoodNow initiative, CAP received toys to distribute to children in need in the local area.
At a recent drive-through distribution event held at the Martin County High School, CAP provided more than 1,000 underprivileged children with games, dolls, and books provided by Marine Toys for Tots.
One mother of three young boys mentioned how the toys help her children spend time away from screens and prepare for the new school year. "My boys were very excited about getting new toys, especially from teachers," she said. "This donation doesn't just help one family, but the entire community. Many families don't have the means to purchase extra stuff for their families, so it's nice to have extra on top of what we need, especially as we prepared for the new school year."
Toys for Tots' partnership with Good360 has helped CAP assist families in Martin County as they concluded their summer break. Parents can focus on purchasing school supplies, clothing, and other goods without worrying about the cost of extra toys and games—and it’s another way Toys for Tots can DoGoodNow!
